Low Carb Fast Foods Tips and Tricks

South Beach Diet™: Hundreds of recipes and 24-hour support!

Low carb fast foods can be a welcome replacement when there's no time for a sit down meal. One of my favorite low carb fast food breakfasts is to get a sausage, egg and cheese croissant and eat it by sliding the insides forward so they stick out of the croissant. I can use the bread to hold it but only bite into the sausage, egg and cheese. This is especially useful if I am on the road or commuting to work and need to eat on the go. It gets a little tricky towards the end but you can do it while driving as it is not nearly as messy as trying the same with a burger!

Low carb fast foods work great for an on-the-go dinner or lunch too. You can go for the sandwiches and just toss the buns! Mayo and mustard are OK, but stay away from ketchup or bring your own low carb ketchup . If you have no other choice then breaded chicken, you can scrape off the breading and of course toss the bun.

Low carb fast foods don't have to be full of fat either, for a great low fat meal, opt for the salad or salad with grilled chicken, most places offer them now.

If you find yourself in a pizza and sub shop, load up on meats without the bun or better yet have them put the insides of the sub on a salad with an oil and vinegar dressing. Or if there is only pizza, just scrape off the cheese and toppings and eat them separate.

These low carb fast foods techniques also work if you are eating Mexican, just dump the cheese, lettuce, tomato and beef or chicken onto a plate. Instant Mexican salad!

Things to Avoid
